Come and learn to weave a beautiful and durable rush seat at The Marchmont Workshop. This two day course will cover weaving a rush seat from start to finish, what tools and materials are necessary, as well as information on how and where to source your own rush for future endeavours. Limited to 4 students to ensure a bespoke learning experience.

You can bring your own chair to seat (please send us a photo of it so we can double check its suitable), or you can purchase an add on stool or chair frame below.

  • The course will start at 9am on both days and finish at 5pm, with an hours lunch break.

    Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day, however please bring a packed lunch, as we're a little way away from any shops.

  • Please note before booking: This course fee includes a deposit of £50. In the event of cancellation less than 30 days before the course, this deposit becomes non-refundable but may be transferred to another available course date. For courses cancelled with less 48 hours of the booked date, no refund will be given. In the event of cancellation by The Marchmont Workshop Ltd, an alternative date will be offered, or full refund given.

  • If you don't already have a chair or stool you would like to seat, you can buy a frame from us to take away. Add-on options are available below, unfortunately we don't offer an armchair frame as they are simply too large for a beginner to complete over 2 days.

    Please Note: The add-ons can only be purchased with a valid course date, all other purchases will be refunded.
