The Bedales Chair, originally known as the ‘Mission’ chair , was designed by Ernest Gimson in 1906. It was later renamed after Bedales School when Edward Gardiner was commissioned to make the chairs for the Gimson designed Memorial Library.

  • Our chairs are available in Oak and Ash, and can be stained or painted to suit your needs. We're also happy to discuss new materials or adjustments to any of our designs.

  • This price excludes delivery or overseas crating where necessary. This will be calculated once your order has been received, based on the delivery address and the scale of order.

  • The finishes we use provide good resistance to spillages wiped away relatively quickly with a damp cloth, but if you feel like the finish needs a top up we recommend a beeswax based finish.

    The woven rush is a naturally stain resistant material, but can be prone to mould if left in damp conditions.
