Richard started working with Lawrence in May 2018. Before that he studied music at the University of Manchester until he graduated in 2016. He had always been drawn to making things right from the beginning, spending most of his childhood playing with K'Nex, Lego, and Mechano - he got his first coping saw at the age of 4; a birthday present from his dad.

Since then, he decided music was the way forward choosing the Classical guitar as his instrument of choice. Whilst he undertook his studies, kept woodworking as a hobby; most notably earning a BTEC in fine furniture along side his degree and volunteering with Mike Abbott in 2015, where he discovered a love of greenwood working and started the path of chairmaking. In his spare time he enjoys making instruments, mostly guitars as well as bowl turning and as many other crafts as he can fit in with his remaining time!
