Welcome to our Workshop

here at the Marchmont Workshop, led by Craftsmen Richard Platt and Sam Cooper, we make bespoke traditional furniture in the style of the Arts and Craft Movement, inspired by luminaries such as Ernest Gimson and Phillip Clissett.

Using techniques, tools and Patterns passed down through 6 generations of Master and Apprentice starting in 1890. our furniture is meticulously hand crafted using materials sourced locally and sustainably from the woodland and rivers around our Workshop in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
