Hugo Burge

A Director of Marchmont Farms Limited, leading a 8 year restoration of Marchmont House, with plans to now bring it alive as ‘a Home for Makers and Creators’ in the Scottish Borders. Hugo is a Patron of the Borders Art Fair, a Trustee of wasps_ Studios and has been a co-founder of The Marchmont Workshop. First commissioning ‘The Chairmaker’, as short film about Lawrence Neal produced by Marchmont Farms Limited and Falcon Productions, before leading the recruitment process and funding two apprentices to carry on the legacy of Ernest Gimson through to Lawrence Neal.

As part of this legacy, Marchmont Farms Limited have been redeveloping the old Sir Robert Lorimer designed garage and stable complex at Marchmont house into 7 new workshops available to makers and creators. The first of these creative spaces is now home to The Marchmont Workshop, opened by Hugo, Sam and Rich in 2020.
